Holy Motors - Craziness. French surreal film that is an homage to life, death, the movies, and everything inbetween. The visuals are superb. It is quite a cryptic journey. Not for the faint of heart or a mainstream viewer. (SEE AT THE BOTTOM). Rated R.

Skyfall - Bond. Very good Bond. Epic even. Rated PG-13.
The Grade: B+

 

Flight - Denzel Washington is great and the storyline, about a drunk airlines pilot, is both topical and scary. Rated R.

Breaking Dawn (Part 2) - Actually this last entry in the Twilight Saga is pretty good. Not scary but entertaining. Rated PG-13.
The Grade: B+

 

Chasing Mavericks - Hollywood's version of a surf movie is moving, if not entirely authentic. Rated PG-13.

Holy Motors - Again with this pretentious piece of crap! - Surely what some people will think.
The Grade: F

 

The Sessions - (John Hawkes, Helen Hunt, and William H. Macy) - This story follows the love life of a man who spends most of his time in an iron lung. It is amusing, entertaining, and touching but not without its problems. First off, I've never watched a movie where I was so conscious that I was watching a movie. There is something about the happy go lucky priest character played by William H. Macy, that while it adds a lot of humor, just doesn't ring true with the rest of the film. That said, John Hawkes and Helen Hunt are phenomenal. Rated R for nudity.
