Feature Review:

Night Watch - From Russia with Love comes this cool, horror, thriller. Arresting camera work and stunning visuals makes this one of the more interesting foreign films to grace our shores in years. Filmed entirely in Moscow it is very gritty and perhaps a little drier than what we are used to in a movie but still good. The only real weakness is the plotline which is decent but a little too conveniently contrived at times. Rated R for violence and nudity. Playing exclusive engagement at The Ken Cinema for just two weeks.

Tristram Shandy - This English comedy from Michael Winterbottom (24 Hour Party People) is fun and riotous in parts but also a little too British for its own good. You'll laugh but you'll never really become emotionally engaed to it. Kudos for the attempt to film the unfilmable book, though. Playing an exclusive engagement at La Jolla Village.
