Nacho Libre - It is hard to imagine anyone but Jack Black playing the lead role in writer/director Jared Hess's (Napoleon Dynamite) comedy about a man who is priest by day but a wrestler by night. The plotline and visuals are simple, cute, and energetic. While it doesn't consistently maintain a pace of inspired lunacy it contains enough random wit to keep it from ever lagging for very long. Hector Jimenez as the comic sidekick and Ana de la Reguera as a potential love interest are perfect compliments to Black's manic movements. I laughed pretty consistently throughout. Good, clean fun. Rated PG.

The Break-Up - Nowadays the romantic comedy as a genre has pretty much run out of ideas. What we get now is a calculated product fit for consumption. The ingredients: At least one beautiful person (Jennifer Aniston in this case), a quirky co-star (Jon Favreau in this case), how the heck did these actors get in this movie? (Ann-Margret, Vincent D'Onofrio, Judy Davis in this case), and finally the concept (see title in this case). The quick scoop is that this film starts off great, flirts with hilarity fifteen minutes into it, and then slowly goes downhill until the end, where it completely misses its easy chance to redeem itself.
