Sunshine: This is an intelligent and beautiful looking science fiction film however it lacks enough thrills. Think 2001 or Solaris rather than Star Wars. Rated R.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Those magical teenagers are back. This is an adequately entertaining if not stellar addition to the series. Rated PG-13.

Live Free or Die Hard: Bruce Willis is back in his signature action role. This time around he is battling Tech Terrorists (not as lame as it sounds but not as cool as we'd like it to be). This is a somewhat uneven, but overall entertaining thriller. Occasionally witty dialogue and good supporting actors add to Willis' workmanlike performance. Rated PG-13.

Transformers: From toy, to cartoon, to video game, to summer movie - or something like that. The kids will probably enjoy it because it is loud and has some cool effects but isn't very good. Rated PG-13.
