Feature Review:
Feast of Love - This is a muddled film to say the least. Director Robert Benton who has been making films for over forty years does his best to pull off a current feeling but timeless ode to love (very rarely have I seen so much female nudity in a mainstream release) but for every interesting idea there is a dud. It is almost as if he tries too hard. The acting is solid and the plot fairly engaging but be prepared to be ambivalent to the end result. Starring Morgan Freeman, Greg Kinnear, Radha Mitchell, and Alexa Davalos. Rated R.

Resident Evil: Extinction - This is hopefully the final installment of this mediocre video game zombie movie series. I have to admit that this flick has some fun things in it: A cool sequence with infected crows and the visual eye candy of the whole Las Vegas fight scene comes to mind. Unfortunately, the climatic battle is totally weak! Rated R.

Eastern Promises - This is a brutally good film from director David Cronenberg (A History of Violence). It is about Russian gangsters operating in London. The acting is superb and there are plenty of riveting violent scenes. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts, Vincent Cassel, and Armin Mueller-Stahl. Rated R.
