Apocalypto - This sub-titled Mayan thriller directed by Mel Gibson is very predictable but engaging nonetheless. The Grade: B
The Holiday - Romantic comedy times two. Charismatic performances highlight this overly long, but fun film. The Grade: B-
Volver* - While not the strongest Almodovar film this will serve as an excellent introduction to those interested in checking him out. Penelope Cruz is fabulous in the lead role. - The Grade: B
The Fountain - Umm, okay? cool story and visuals but confusing and not engaging. The Grade: C+ for end result - A for artistic vision
Deja Vu - Entertaining thriller with lots of science fiction touches. The Grade: B+/B
Casino Royale - Decent but typical Bond stuff. The Grade: B/B-
For Your Consideration - Funny in bits, but just not worth it. The Grade: C/C-
The Departed - Very Good Crime Drama. The Grade: A-
Running With Scissors - Extremely well acted. The Grade: B+
Babel - Engaging but comes up short overall. The Grade: B
Flags of our Father - Good but totally unfocused. The Grade: B
Marie Antoinette - Visually stunning but banal. The Grade: C+
