King Kong - This is a fantastic picture. It has incredible special effects and is a fabulous moviegoing experience. Yes - it is too long (3 hours that could have easily been cut another thirty minutes). Still, incredible! Recently voted the Best Film of the Year by the San Diego Film Critic Society. Hammy performances by all but that is part of the fun.

Memoirs of a Geisha - Nice too look at but rather dull.

Syriana - Decent political thriller that is well acted and realistic. While it is very confusing from the get-go it manages to come all together by the end. Starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Jeffrey Wright. Rated R.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - The beloved C.S. Lewis story comes to life - sort of. This looks pretty good and the acting is adequate but it never really gets moving. You'd be better off seeing the new Harry Potter. Rated PG.
